Admixtures. What they do and when to use them
Admixtures are materials (often in the form of fluid or powders) which are added to concrete.
These materials allow the concrete to gain characteristics which would not be obtainable with plain concrete mixes.
Chapter 2 of the LABC Warranty Technical Manual contains guidance on the use of admixtures.
The chapter explains:
- Common admixtures
- Admixtures and reinforcing
- Using admixtures in cold weather
The LABC Warranty Technical Manual has been written by our technical experts and is endorsed by RIBA and CIAT to provide guidance on meeting the technical standards required at different stages of construction.
