Q: How did you feel when you found out you had won the award?
A: I was delighted, it is a wonderful compliment being recognised for your efforts.
Q: What does it mean to you personally?
A: I have worked in Site Management for over 30 years and at Esh Construction for 17 years, I have always been considered good at my job but to receive this award is a much appreciated pat on the back.
Q: What does it mean for your team / business?
A: We are only as good as the team we have on site, we give them guidance for the standards we expect but they need to be capable and buy into your standards. All of the sub-contractors have been thanked by myself for their efforts in helping me win the award. For Esh Construction, it is a great advert for current and future clients that we employ the right people for the job and have high standards and expectations for all employees.
Q: What makes a good Site Manager?
A: I would say you need good organisation skills, communication and team building skills, led by example and good construction knowledge.
Q: What one success in your work are you most proud of and why?
A: Receiving this award, after all the years I have worked in site management I still get a sense of satisfaction and pride when completing a project and winning the award only adds to this.
